>> Hi everyone and welcome to a new tutorial!
Today I will show you how to create a customized baby girl birthday card.
As first step let's choose a base cardstock,I chose this white one
and it's always good to have in mind the project layout
that's why I sketched it on a scrap paper
to have an idea of where to place the various details.
We can now choose some patterned paper to match together;
the ones I chose are all from this collection: Sidewalks by October Afternoon.
More precisely I chose these 3 papers which I already cut to size
and I'll layer them like this.
As you can see from my sketch
I'll add a ribbon
and I chose this one by American Crafts
there will also be some writing and other details we will see little by little.
First of all I want to punch a scallop edge on this middle paper
and I'm gong to use this Fiskars punch.
Now I can adhere the 3 pieces together
but I will not adhere them to the card yet because I want to add the ribbon first
and it will go around the papers.
Now I start adhering the papers!
Now I can wrap around the ribbon
like this..
and I cut out the exceeding bits.
Then I will place a paper doily here
and on top I'll add this decoration.
To make it I used these 2 punches
First I punch the circle out
then...
et voilà!
Inside I'll place a digital stamp
this one, "everyday princess",
which I purchased online and colored with Photoshop
but I could also colour it with pens or copic markers
to get a brighter effect,
but I wanted to try something different this time.
Then I printed it on cardstock and now I'm going to cut it out.
When you cut it's always better to rotate the cardstock instead of the scissors
to obtain a better result.
To cut the inside bits
I use an x-acto knife
and obvisouly you also need a cutting mat below.
To add some more colour
I'll layer under it a circle
punched from this paper always using my circle punch.
I can now adhere this bits together.
For the sentiment I used some papers from this collection
which is Basics Manila by Basic Grey
made with neutral papers
and I chose this one.
As you can see I adhered on top some letter stickers,
like these ones,
writing AUGURI (wishes).
Then I cut a strip from the same paper I used on the doily
to make the sentiment stand out more
and I'll place it on the card like this.
On the same paper on which I printed the digital stamp
I also printed the name of the birthday girl
and now I'll cut it out.
This time again I'll add a paper below to make it stand out more.
As it often happens now that I have every element ready
I realize that this part doesn't get along well with the card
so I will not use it and look for a better solution for the sentiment..
I decided to solve the problem by using
this stamp set by Technique Tuesday, clear stamps and accessories
It's the cake and candles collection
and I'll stamp it with Versamark ink
and emboss it with white embossing powder
which will make the sentiment en relief.
I choose the 2 stamps I'm going to use
and I place them on the card to understand the right position.
Now I grab them using the acrylic block
To avoid statics I clean the paper with a cloth
then I use the clear Versamark ink.
I sprinkle the white embossing powder
and I tap off the excess.
Now using the heat gun I emboss the sentiment.
Now I can assemble the card.
First of all I adhere the layered patterned papers on the base cardstock.
I add the paper doily
and as last thing I adhere the digistamp.
I add some other details like these punched butterflies,
the punch is by Martha Stewart,
and I place them using glue.
I use the glue only in the middle to make them more dimensional.
As last touch I place this embellishment on the ribbon using hot glue.
Here is our finished customized birthday card
bright and full of details, I hope the birthday girl will like it.
That's all for today, as usual you'll find the list of the products used on my blog
