>> Hi and welcome back
we left Christmas behind but the holidays are not over
for those of you who are planning to celebrate the new year's eve at home with friends
it's time to think about a lovely setup
and to help you out today I will show you how to create
a centerpiece suitable for the occasion like this one.
Here is what you will need:
a large plate,
a white feathers string, the ones you find in stores during at Christmas time,
some black cardstock,
a white cardstock with stars in different sizes printed on,
hot glue,
a big glass jar,
some styrofoam,
a paint brush,
an x-acto knife,
some packing stuff, like the one used for Christmas gift baskets,
some ribbon,
some iron wire,
an artificial flower,
scissors,
Mod Podge,
some glitter,
some glitter chipboard letters and a pencil,
a twig
and a white gel pen.
First of all let's work on the styrofoam
and using the jar as a mask
let's trace the outline with a pencil.
Using the x-acto knife let's cut a circle of the right dimensions to fit inside the jar,
like this.
Now let's wrap the packing stuff around the circle
sticking it down with hot glue
this way.
For the next step we need to cut out the stars we printed on the cardstock.
Let's place them on a newspaper
then let's cover them with Mod Podge
like this.
Now let's sprinkle them with glitter.
Here is the result!
Once the stars will be completely dry
we can grab the iron wire
and hot glue it to the back of the star
adding another star on top as you see.
Let's cut out the exceeding wire
and let's create more stars in different sizes.
Now let's bring back the styrofoam base
and let's stick in the stars we made
like this.
Here is the result!
Now let's work with the black cardstock
and let's place the twig on top
to get the right proportion
and let's mark the size using a pencil
like this.
Now let's stick down the chipboard letters
on the cardstock to write 2014.
Then using a ruler let's trace some guide lines
and let's cut out the cardstock, like this.
Now let's cut out another piece of cardstock with the same size.
Using a white gel pen let's draw a stiched line on the outline
to finish up the sign.
Let's hot glue the twig on the back of the cardstock
and let's glue the second piece of cardstock on top.
We now have a 2014 sign
which we need to stick in the styrofoam base with the stars.
Here is the result.
Now let's place the decorated styrofoam base inside the jar
and let's tie a bow with the ribbon.
Once we tied the bow
let's hot glue the artificial flower on top.
Let's cut out the exceeding ribbon
then let's put together the centerpiece
placing the jar on the plate
wrapping the feather string around
and adding the bow.
And here it is our new year's eve centerpiece
That's all for today, but come back tomorrow for a new video
which will show you how to create some matching placeholders
So I'll wait for you tomorrow...ciaoooo!
