>> Hi and welcome to a new tutorial
today I will show how to create some lovely and colorfull framed decors like these ones
using some recessed frames.
I was inspired for this project by mexican crafts
because during my journey to Mexico this summer I bought a lot of these crafts
and I fell in love with them
so I decided to try making some my own way.
For this project we will need:
some recessed frames, I bought these from Muji
some spray paint, if you wish to change the colour of the frames like I did,
some patterned papers,
some pictures of the choosen subject printed in the right size with your printer
various embellishments,
some scissors,
some twizers,
and a hot glue gun
and eventually some regular glue too.
If you wish to use some details like I did
you will also need a butterfly punch.
If you decide to change the colour of the frame the first step is
to move outside and use the spray paint in the chosen colour
but firstly remove the inside of the frame this way.
Then carefully spray paint the whole frame.
While we wait for the paint to dry
let's start matching the details we will place inside the frames
So let's choose a patterned paper
I chose this one,
and let's start matching the details!
I decided to use this image
this butterfly which I made using a punch
It's super easy, grab a paper and punch out the butterfly this way.
Then I will add a resin flower,
an hand shaped charm which reminds me of Frida.
I also printed Frida's signature and I will place it this way
and an heart shaped button.
This steps helps us to have a clear idea of how to match the papers and details we chose
in order to speed up the assembly process.
Let's start by cutting the papers in the right size
using the inside of the frame as a mask.
As the frames I bought are double face
I cut out various papers to place on the sides of the frames.
Now let's glue the paper to the base
using a regular glue
and let's cut out the exceeding bits.
Let's repeat using a different paper on the other side of the frame.
We can now insert back the base inside the frame.
Now let's decorate the sides!
I decided to thread inside the charm
some twine to add more colour.
Let's start adhereing the different details
I used dimensional sticker to create a new level.
I created this banner by printing Frida's signature
and folding the paper strip.
We will adhere it here
by simply adding some glue on the back.
Now let's adhere the butterfly and again we will use
some dimensional stickers which we will cut
as we need a smaller bit
and we glue it on the back of the butterfly.
Then using the twizers we place it inside the frame.
On top of it I will glue this resin flower
using the hot glue.
I add the charm, always using the hot glue.
And as last thing this button
once again using hot glue.
The first side is done!
Let's repeat the same procedure with the details
and the matching we chose.
Here is the finished project
with different sides,
and that you can customize as you like.
I hope you liked this tutorial
That's all for today and I'll talk to you in my next video...ciao!
