>> Hi and welcome back to our kitchen
I am Giuliana and he is Daniele
and today we will bake together a Christmas classic, the gingerbread cookies
which are perfect to decorate the tree too.
To bake around 30 cookies we will need:
150 gr of honey,
160gr of sugar,
150gr of butter,
350gr of flour,
an egg,
and some powder spices, nutmeg,
ginger,
cinnamon,
and cloves.
We will also need some baking soda.
For the decoration we will prepare some frosting
using an egg and some icing sugar.
We will also need a pastry bag to decorate and some cookie cutters
Ok we can start!
First of all let's mix the ingredients in the kneader
or you can use a mixer, it's ok.
So we add the sifted flour.
Let's add the sugar too
and the spices using a teaspoon.
Two teaspoons of ginger,
two teaspoons of cinnamon,
half a teaspoon of cloves,
a quarter of a teaspoon of nutmeg
and half a teaspoon of baking soda.
Now we also add the butter.
and the honey, then we knead it at medium speed
until we obtain a nubby dough.
Here we go!
One we reach the desidered texture
we add the egg
and we knead everything together for a bit.
Let's take the dough
and we wrap it in film as it has to sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Two hours later
we can take the dough out of the fridge
we put some flour on the table because we need to flatten it
to a 4mm thickness.
Now we can cut out the cookies and lay them in the tray.
Now we bake them for 10/12 minutes at 180°
The hoven was pre-heated.
We baked the cookies and let them cool down
and now we prepare the frosting to decorate them.
We start by beating until stiff an albumen .
Let's place it in the mixer...
and then we slowly add the 150gr of icing sugar
Once we reach the desired texture
like this,
let's move the frosting in the pastry bag and let's start decorating
We are ready to decorate!
Here are our finished and decorated cookies
we need to wait until the frosting firms up and then we can use them to decorate the tree
or as a present, why not!
Ok, that's all for today
I wish you a lovely day and I'll talk to you in my next video...ciaooo
A quarter of....
I don't know who closed this thing, but...
I can't open it!
Did you close it with cement?
